Becoming a PA Accredited Umpire
To ensure consistency of standards applied to umpiring in the sport of petanque, PA is developing a pathway for the development of umpires.
PA defines umpires as follows:
The PA Umpires Commission has developed a series of workshops and examinations for Levels 1-3. Umpire examination applicants must be physically fit and have good eyesight as prerequisites for sitting a Club, State, National, Confederation & International umpire examination.
Development and accreditation for Level 4 and 5 are managed by FIPJP.
For opportunities to qualify as a PA Umpire, contact your club, State Director of Umpiring or the Umpires Commission.

After passing the required oral, written and practical examinations, successful umpire applicants will be classed as Level 1 (Club) Umpires and be authorised to umpire in Club events and assist in State League events.
Level 2 - State Umpire
After completing 1 full year as an active Level 1 (Club) Umpire, an umpire may apply to sit the Level 2 (State) Umpire examination, which will be conducted by the State Director of Umpiring.
